Local Walmart and Sam’s Club stores to raise money for Children’s Hospital & Medical Center

Local Walmart and Sam’s Club stores are once again joining forces to raise money for Children’s Hospital & Medical Center during the annual Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals (CMN Hospitals) campaign.

Last year, Walmart and Sam’s Club associates, customers and members raised $424,000 for Children’s. On a national level, Walmart and Sam’s Club have raised more than $1 billion for CMN Hospitals – the largest cash amount ever raised by one company for a nonprofit in North America.

Money is raised primarily through a register campaign where customers and members contribute $1 or more when they check out. Associates also raise funds in other ways, including bake sales, in-store contests and events. Funds raised during the 2019 campaign will go toward Children’s new, expanded Emergency Department and a new ambulance.

If you shop at a Walmart or Sam’s Club during the campaign, you might spot “Flat Caid,” a paper cut-out drawing of Caiden Loose-Ives, Children’s patient and the 2019 CMN Hospitals Champion for the state of Nebraska. Store associates are using #FlatCaid as an opportunity to post on social media about their partnership with Children’s and CMN Hospitals.

Customers and members are welcome to spread the word about the campaign on social media using the hashtag #HelpKidsLiveBetter.
