Walmart and Sam’s Club Raise Funds for Children’s

Walmart and Sam’s Club are once again helping raise funds for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, including Children’s Hospital & Medical Center.

Associates kick off the 33rd #HelpKidsLiveBetter fundraising campaign for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals today, June 22. This fundraiser gives customers and members several ways to donate at the register or online.

Since 1987, with the generous support of their customers and members, Walmart and Sam’s Clubs have raised more than $6.5 million dollars to help the region’s kids served by Children’s. On a national level, this campaign has raised more than $1 billion for CMN Hospitals in the U.S. and Canada since 1987.

There are a few ways a Walmart customer or Sam’s Club member can donate to their local CMN Hospital. They can donate at any register in the store or club, including at self-checkout kiosks. They can also donate online at www.HelpKidsLiveBetter.org. New this year is the option for Walmart customers to “round up” their purchase to the next dollar and donate the change. Funds raised locally during the 2020 campaign will go toward Children’s new, expanded Emergency Department and a new ambulance.

“For more than three decades, our Walmart and Sam’s Club associates have amazed me with the heart and passion they put into the annual CMN Hospitals fundraising campaign,” said Glenda Fleming Willis, senior vice president of operations for Walmart. “They have strong connections with their local community hospitals and go above and beyond to help these families who so greatly need our support.”

If you shop at a Walmart or Sam’s Club during the campaign, you might spot “Flat Easton,” a paper cut-out drawing of Easton DeJong, Children’s patient and the 2020 CMN Hospitals Champion for the state of Nebraska. Store associates are using #FlatChampion as an opportunity to post on social media about their partnership with Children’s and CMN Hospitals.

The Walmart and Sam’s Club fundraising campaign runs through July 19.
